👋 Hello! I turned 46. Here's my annual review and re-introduction.
I've done these every year for the last 16 years, and use it as a time to update my book of beliefs, my life in weeks, and to come up with a new word for the year.
😱 Holy shitballs, I’m 46 years old! It’s been a year. Literally. Because that’s how birthdays work. But for the first time in a long time I took a weekend to myself and am staying in Calistoga and treating myself to mud baths, geothermally-heated pools, massages, walks through gardens, and some delicious food and beverage while I consider my past year and think about the one coming up.
Included in the annual review:
An updated life expectancy for myself (78.3 years old).
A couple new things added to my life in weeks (got divorced and got COVID, though neither went as poorly as I feared they might).
A list of the past 15 annual reviews, for context.
A review of the last year, and the mistake I made when I came up with last year’s word: reconstellation.
Three books that informed my new word for this year, by helping me understand something new about dignity, grief, love, and participating in today’s world.
Other statistics and bits and bobs.
If any of that sounds worth your while…
Have a read!

I hope you’re doing okay!
Hi Buster. I hope you are doing okay. Didn’t know about your personal update. None of my business but you’ve always seemed like a good guy.
